Mm.

[ He waits for John to sit up against the headboard before putting the tray down on his lap, taking care not to drop anything in the process. The bedroom smells like sex - completely and thoroughly - and he likes the thought of it, of coming in here clean and leaving with the remnants of yesterday on his skin. John's looking nicely rumbled, with his hair all over the place and his voice slightly hoarse, groggy. The man did sleep for, what? 26 hours? Quite astonishing.

Sitting down on the edge of the bed a bit gingerly - though, his arse did hurt a lot worse when he woke up the first time around half-past six in the evening yesterday - Sherlock grabs one of the cups and looks at John. ]

Coffee or tea?

[ The pots are in the kitchen, still - purely, a matter of practicality, what with the tray having a somewhat limited capacity. His mind, still a tiny bit sluggish, comes up with John's preferences concerning both within a couple of seconds. He watches the other man quietly and waits, time passing by differently today, somewhat slower than usual. It's been like that ever since he got out of bed. Like a come-down in reverse; with the high giving way to something much like peace, rather than pain or agitation. Well, all right, there's pain but it's more like an ache, a reminder. He doesn't mind. It's like being marked, in a way. ]

[ Nodnod. He gets to his feet slowly, his lower body aching at the movement and making him grit his teeth briefly. At certain angles, well - he feels it, definitely. John did shove twenty centimeters worth of hard cock up his arse, it's bound to leave some noticeable after-effects. He'd checked it out in the mirror when he got up to shower and there'd been a couple of minor rifts, a lot of swelling and redness. Expected. As the hours have gone by, the pain has grown less and less pronounced and he's almost... regretful about it.

The pain keeps him grounded in his body, subtle as it may be. Consequently, he feels... grounded to the moment. The more it dissipates, the more it slips away and whilst memories can be both very detailed and weighty, there's just something about the physical reminders... the pull in his body at every moment, the deep-seated sensation of ache... He slips into the kitchen and pours John a cup of coffee (no sugar), pouring a cup of tea for himself afterwards before heading back to the bedroom.

This time, when he hands John the cup, he doesn't sit down himself. Instead, he walks over to the window and opens it, slightly, letting in the cool air as well as the sounds from the street downstairs. Cabs, people, shopping, someone running in high heels, uneven weight distribution, meaning she's carrying something in her left hand, something like a laptop, late for a meeting, job interview? He blinks.

The mental glass dome he's been living in ever since they went to bed yesterday fractures, though it doesn't quite break. ]

[ As John digs into his breakfast, Sherlock notes that he clearly likes the eggs (they are delicious and more interesting than regularly fried eggs) and that the raisins aren't... to his taste. Ugh. There's always something, isn't there. He adds that little slip of knowledge to his John!file and decides to bake croissants one day, when he has the time and the inclination. It does take quite a while, at least if you do it right. They have a French cookbook, his family, that's been passed down from generation to generation and every recipe is quite elaborate.

He's deep in thought and thus, realises only about half a minute later that John's asked him a question. Blinking again, he looks up. Thinks back, rewinding. Oh. Oh, right. ]

It's fine.

[ He could add something obvious about it being a little bruised, a little swollen or what have you. But John's a doctor - fine, in his terminology, refers to a wide range of states, all firmly within the concept of no medical intervention required. Anything beyond that, Sherlock would mention. You don't want that particular part of your body to suffer serious complications of any sort, really. However, John was careful with him. Took... care.

That's a nice thought.

He sips his tea and leans against the window sill, gaze gliding away from John once more, thoughts wandering pleasantly without gaining any sort of actual purchase. It's a good way to be. ]
